Strep throat during pregnancy?

Last night I went to the ER to get re hydrated (this is my 10th visit in the past week).. anyways, i've slowly started to notice my throat getting sorer s the days go by, and with me being in the ER so much, there is a possibility I picked up strep.. Anyways, I looked in my mouth and saw some really dark red inflamed spots, the lighting was bad but I THINK I saw a couple of white spots.. I have an apt with my PCP tomorrow to get a referral to a specialist, should I wait til then or just go to the ER? I heard it was more dangerous while pregnant...
