Can I use Aveda Shampure on recently colored hair?

Just got my hair colored at the salon for the first time. I had highligts before. I have a huge bottle of Aveda Shampure that Iwould love to finish but the stylist said I should use a "color" shampoo. Will Shamnpure fit the bill?
